First, I pray for strength and comfort for everyone in Paris, especially those who lost loved ones or were injured in the terrorist attack.  I also pray for the country of France.  Vive la France!

Everything said or written about this attack has boiled down to what is right and what is wrong.  Every action is either right or wrong.  There is no in-between on this issue.  You are either for allowing the refugees into our country or you are not.

To those who say “keep them out” I want to quote the Holy Bible for any Christian that wants to keep them out:

Matthew 25, vs 42-46: “for I was hungry and you wouldn’t feed me; thirsty and you wouldn’t give me anything to drink; a stranger, and you refused me hospitality; naked, and you wouldn’t clothe me; sick, and in prison, and you didn’t visit me,”

“Then they will reply, “Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you?

“And I will answer, “When you refused to help the least of these my brothers, you were refusing to help me.”

“And they shall go away into eternal punishment; but the righteous into everlasting life.”

The CINOs (Christians in name only) are doing wrong.  There are many Christian organizations that support bringing refugees to our country such as The Conference of Catholic Bishops and the National Association of Evangelicals, President Leith Anderson among many others. They are doing right.

Any member of congress (Republican or Democrat) that voted for the bill to stop all refugees from entering our country is doing wrong!  Republicans also want to suspend the Office of Refugee Resettlement and include that in the spending bill to fund the government.  This is another attempt to have a government shutdown AGAIN!!  This is also doing wrong.

Every governor of a state that will not allow refugees into their state is doing wrong.   Every American that wants to stop the refugees from entering our country is doing wrong!

Ted Cruz and Jeb Bush want to ban all Muslims!  They say none but Christians should be allowed to enter our country. All Republican presidential candidates want to ban the refugees.  They are all doing wrong.  The most outrageous thing said so far is Chris Christie saying “don’t let the orphans in”!!

Sinclair Lewis said “When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying the cross.”   Is this how we want our county described?  This is certainly the way some are acting!!

Our Republican leaders in congress and the Republican candidates for the presidency are people other countries look at as our “leadership”.  These “anti-refugee” “leaders” have created a “nationalism of hysteria and fear!  This is doing wrong!   If it weren’t for the calm approach from President Obama and most Democrats, this country would “go to Hell in a handbasket!” quickly!  They are doing right!

Look at France as an example of doing right.  They are the ones who were attacked.  Yet, France vows to take in 30,000 Syrian refugees!  They are showing the world their compassion, empathy and understanding of who these refugees are; people who have been bombed out of their homes and cities by ISIS!

As Democratic presidential contender, Bernie Sanders said “In my view, now is the time for developing a serious and effective approach to destroy ISIS.  Now is not the time for taking cheap political advantage of this tragedy.  Now is the time – as President Obama is trying to do – to unite the world in an organized campaign against ISIS that will eliminate the stain of ISIS from this world.  “What terrorism is about is trying to instill terror and fear into the hearts of people.  And we will not let that happen.  We will not be terrorized or live in fear.  During these difficult times, we will not succumb to Islamophobia.  We will not turn our backs on the refugees who are fleeing Syria and Afghanistan.  We will do what we do best and that is be Americans – fighting racism, fighting xenophobia, fighting fear.”
