People are being killed and bombed out of their homes in Aleppo, Syria as well as other place. Civilians are being killed by Drone strikes. War is going on all over the Middle East. There are millions of refugees who have no homes, no shelter, no food or water. People are starving all over the world.
What are many people in the U.S. doing? They are still “fighting the election results”. They are continuing the ugly contemptuous campaign that ended almost a month ago! The mass media is keeping the “anger” alive. Where is the peace and love of Christmas? Other religions have their celebrations this time of the year also. If we can’t have peace or love during this time of the year, when will we?
No matter how anyone feels about the results of this election, we still live in a free country. We can choose to drop the negative and work towards a better America for everyone. There are many families who need help; somewhere to live, food and, someone who cares about them. Rather than use our “energy’ for hate and anger, why don’t we use it to benefit those in need? It would turn our minds to positive action to help them and give us a sense of accomplishment for what we contribute. There are so many ways we can do something for others if we just focus on that rather than hate and anger.
There is so much for us to be thankful for in this country. If we concentrate on all of the blessings we now have rather than what “may” be taken away from us by politicians tomorrow, our lives would be so much happier . Remember “Today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday”. The past is over, no one knows what the future will bring. All we have is the present. Now is the time to make it better.
Stephen Grellet: “I shall pass through this world but once,
If therefore there be any kindness I can show
nor any good thing I can do, Let me do it now.
Let me not defer it or neglect it for
I shall not pass this way again.
